Surf, Sun and Spirits: Part 1
Surf, Sun, and Spirits in San Diego-Part 1 Old Town San Diego, California, the name itself conjures up images of surfers on the beach, sand between your toes, and margaritas in a glass. One doesn’t think about San Diego as a haunted hot spot where the intrepid para-traveler can spend their time doing all things ghostly, but San Diego and the paranormal go hand in hand. So much so, that I cannot fit it all into one blog but need to separate all the eerie fun into two....
Brian Clune is a historian and the co-founder of Planet Paranormal. His love of history motivated him to volunteer at both the USS Iowa and Fort MacArthur Military Museum. His involvement with Planet Paranormal has led him to work with many TV shows including Ghost Adventures, Ghost Hunters, The Dead Files, and My Ghost Story. He was also the focus of a companion documentary for the film Paranormal Asylum.
“I knew very little about the Queen Mary, other than some of the haunts, before reading this book, but by the time I was done, I felt like I knew it like I’d been on it thirty times. Brian Clune and Bob Davis have written a riveting account of this grand and historic vessel, from its life as a luxury liner to its time as a powerful war vessel, and finally as a glorious relic of the past that people can visit and appreciate. A plethora of haunted activity has been reported on the Queen through the years, and the authors take you right in as if they were leading you on a ghost hunt. I really enjoyed this book. It made me really care about the ship and had me pulling for her survival. Great read. Can’t wait to read more of Mr. Clune and Mr. Davis’ impeccable work.”
Review for Ghosts of the Queen Mary
“For anyone devoted to BOTH true crime mysteries AND the true paranormal, there is no better book than this that I have ever read! Wonderful detailed summaries of the mysterious lives and deaths of Hollywood celebrities followed by newly revealed reports of the paranormal activity which has followed their demises ever since! Even for those not into the paranormal, the book is so well written, it should be of interest to anyone who loves Hollywood mysteries!”
Review for Hollywood Obscura
“This book is truly superb. Brian Clune (along with Bob Davis) presents twenty-five locations throughout California (though I suspect there really are more) that have paranormal activity. The book is split into three sections: Southern, Central and Northern California. The locations are given their historical background along with what paranormal activity is there. Also included in each location is a telling of an experience in a person’s own words.
You don’t need to be a paranormal expert to enjoy this book. If you are into history or would like to know a little something about some of the places you’ve seen or heard about, then pick up this book. Or maybe you may want to do a little paranormal investigation of your own at one of these sites.“

Real Life Ghost Busters was written as a diss to Planet Paranormal but is actually very amusing. When we asked the creator if we could use it as our theme song, he was both appalled and pleased. Needless to say, he gave us full permission to use Real Life Ghost Busters. LOL
